Oi!
Want the next Song of Ice and Fire book now, plzkthnks. In other words, I just finished Feast of Crows, by Martin. Been waiting over three years for the book, and overall I enjoyed it. Was lacking two of my favorite characters, sadly, but then again, it had two of my other favorites so...yeah. But several of the story lines ended in a not so nice places, GRRrrr. I dread how long I'll be waiting for their resolution, considering how long it took this one in coming and technically it's not all come, with the rest of it being published in a second book hopefully sometime this year.
Oh, how I do love these writers with their ever expanding book counts. Martin went from three, to six and now with this book split in two, it'll at least be seven. And really, can't forget Janny Wurts' series with the latest book technically being book one of book four of book three. (No, I kid you not) I mean, Traitors Knot was listed as book four of book three, but seeing as it got split in two, in my mind it makes it the first of two (we can pray it'll only be two) and since book three had already been split into four and just...yeah. I love these series, truly I do, and I'm happy to have more to read and in no way anxious to leave the worlds and characters behind. It's just that I'm in fear that the stories will keep forever expanding and never get finished. Which would drive me utterly batty...er, well, more so than I am. Which perhaps is not saying so much but um, still. Yes, it would be a BAD thing. Gwerp. Enough about books, and crazy authors and the even crazier fans who read and love them, to bed with me.
