gnine | More SGA art…and not chibis this time! *gasp*

Since coming back from Thailand (I'll post on the trip soon, I swear, with pictures even. Really, really I will), I've been working feverishly to get this picture for the SGA art fest,

paintedspires, done in time for my posting date of Tuesday. And I succeeded, and well, it's Tuesday, at least by my time, so um…yeah.

xparrot and my brother for their usual beta efforts, otherwise known as "hey, come here and tell me what's wrong with this."

Notes 2: I wound up using over 80 layers in photoshop to get the completed image(my computer was NOT happy) and it took about as many hours to do so. :-p The prompt didn't really specify Rodney or anything, but well…whales! How could he not be there? ^_-

That is just gorgeous, and i think it's my favourite from paintedspires so far. The level of detail is amazing - the lights of the city, the reflections in the water and the lighting on Rodney's face are just beautiful.

It's the way you've used light and muted color that gets me here. You turn Atlantis and the Pegasus galaxy into a pile of sparkling jewels. Everything becomes magical in Rodney's eyes.

Lovely! I love Rodney's faraway look, and his sense of peace. On the show, Rodney is usually so on-the-ball and full of movement, like a hyperactive rabbit on a sugar-carrot high, that to see pictures of him just taking the time to relax and admire the scenery is a wonderful change. And I love that he's spending his free time watching whales...from the safety of the balcony, of course. :-)

Hee, actually, I'm not positive it is Sam, cause he's wearing the new uniform, which makes it the new planet which means I think maybe he's actually looking out at some 'whale' esque creature of the new Lantea and thinking of Sam , which sorta explains his kinda melancholy expression, all reminiscing and all that ^_- Err...I think I maybe think about these things a bit too much. But...well, thinking about Rodney! I just can't stop myself! ^_-
