So…No Thailand pics as of yet…Er, sorry Mom? Soon, I swear. Really, really I do. But for now, more art. Done nominally for the mcsmooch comm. Was in the mood for some Rodney/John, non-chibi cuteness…so…voila.

So, I'll admit, I cheated a bit on the laptop… I just hate drawing them :-p. On the other hand, the fact I didn't need a reference pic to do the white board markers kinda worries me. I think I may use them waaaaay too much at work. Also, I realize there's something sorta wonky with the perspective (otherwise known as my arch-nemesis in art). One of these days I'll actually take a real art course and hopefully that'll teach me how to properly combat my foe. But, until that day, guess I'll just have to muddle through, weird angles and all :-p.

I wondered when I saw your sister's McSmooch story this morning whether I might see an illustration for that before I saw Thailand pictures... not quite; but I guess Rodney/John temptation is just too great to overcome when the mood strikes, eh? My disappointment notwithstanding on the lack of trip photos, I have to admit that I am impressed once again with your drawing. I will be forever jealous of your ability to capture fabric and texture, from the uniforms and the transparency and gentle folds in the curtains to the reflections on the desk and the shadows and highlights on the city outside the window. And details like the pudding cup, foil lid, wound up monitor cord, and uniform patches make this picture! But really impressive?.... is your capture of the fleshtones and light and shadow on their faces. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it might be a photo manip until I opened the full drawing! And of course, this is just the kind of affection I love to see in my OTPs... as I told your sister, you're slowly winning me over! ^_~

Glad you like it, I had the idea in mind ever since I did the night one. Everyone seems to like the pudding cup, which is nice. Though, also amusing, cause I think that's probably the thing that took the least amount of time in the whole pic :-p

Yes, do post the pics this week. We're leaving for Chicago next Thursday (for wedding on the 21st) and will be staying a week so we can see everyone we know and love out there, and it would be great to be able to show them all some of your pictures.
