Just popping out of posting obscurity to say...
HOMG, saw X-men: First Class last night and no WONDER my twitter/flist has been going NUTS!
Dear god, the slash, the glorious glorious slash! That felt like they were just like "here fangirls, have at. A gift from us to you"! I mean, I've always been a fan of Charles/Erik, they've had that old man slash vibe all along, and Stewart and McKellen certainly didn't disappoint on that front in the earlier movies, but here?! With the whole not-yet-enemies and Erik is all okay with Charles being in his mind, Charles can calm him and also on the bed together in the strip club, hee and the HOLDING at the end there! *deep breath* GLORIOUS!
I LOVE how Charles tackling and fighting him, getting shot at, none of those fully distract Erik from the missiles. But Charles getting shot, having to remove the bullet, THAT takes all his concentration! And then the dramatic break-up and just, oh BEAUTIFUL!
And okay, leaving the slashy goodness aside for a moment (but only for a moment cause my thoughts reeeallly are having trouble straying far from...) the movie on a whole was quite fun, certainly up there with the first two X-men. Leaving aside the race issues, that is. (Really, of your two, and ONLY two non-white chars, one dies 5 minutes after he's introduced and the other one goes evil. Really, movie, REALLY?) There was also some gender stuff that bugged me, but not in the mood to go into it now, cause...um...I'm reeeally shallow and the slash goggles, they are POWERFUL! Not that they were really needed, cause dear god, it was practically CANON!
So basically, to sum up, LOVED IT and need fic now, plzkthnks!

Which brings me to a shameless question - if I had written a Charles/Erik fic (or would write one), would you like to beta it? Not right now or anything, just in general, and it's perfectly okay to say no!

Heee, the idea of you writing Charles/Erik fic makes me ever so happy! Yay! I would be happy to beta...though with my fandom butterfly flighty-ness, I can't guarantee how long I'll be into the fic for these guys...I get distracted ever so easily :-p But if it's in the relatively near future, yes, would love to beta for you! ^_^

Yeeah, pretty much the absolute longest I've ever stayed truly active in a fandom was for a little over a year, in SGA. Otherwise, it's normally a few weeks to six months...clearly I have the attention span of...well...a butterfly ^_-
