I've been sort of keeping tabs on this on the periphery, and I can't believe this has happened. It's majorly shitty, and I feel that said ex-friend of yours has been a colossal asshole about this whole thing. I'm sorry that this has happened, and I hope it doesn't ruin trust or friendships for you in the future. :(

I'm not sure what happened before you posted this, but I had some of the details before that. Try to remember that whatever happened and whatever was said, it's not your fault. This was about them, not about you or anything you did. It's always hard to internalize that at first but whenever this sort of thing happens it's always true.
