Your interpretation...
So, flist, need your assistance. Or rather, more precisely, an objective opinion.
You have characters A, B, and C. They've all known each other for some time. A and B, whose relationship is currently on the rocks, are discussing B and C's upcoming nuptials. B says (bitterly) to A: "What I want is to make C happy for the rest of C's life. And I want you to be there on our wedding day, to see what you've lost."
From this, what would you say B is implying A has lost? What's A and B's relationship? Also, what sexes are the three characters in your mind?
And does your interpretation change knowing that A and C used to be together? Or that there's a sad love song playing in the background of this scene?
...Yes, I know I'm crazy...but just for the sake of argument...

Okay, on first impression, I'd say B is implying that A has lost C's love. From that bit, I had assumed that C and A were together at some point, A handled it badly, and as a result lost C.
In terms of A and B's relationship, that's trickier...I think that maybe they were best friends at one point, and had a very intense friendship. Then C came along, and their feelings toward C created a rift in their friendship.
The genders struck me as: A- Male B-Male C-Female

Without considering gender I figured that A and B were together in the past and never repaired their relationship and so B is saying that A lost B. This would put B in a selfish, hurt, snappy mood. Given the moodiness that my scenario has been given and the 'happy for the rest of C's life' line I'd say it was either:
A- Male B-Female C-Male
or
all female
For some reason it seems odd to imply that B is male with the emotional setting that I put them in.
However, when placing the A and C used to be together scenario then I feel like B is saying that A lost C. Once that switch is made it's less a selfish, snappy, moody remark as it's a comment of possession and comparative competence. In this case I'd put all characters in the same gender, or A-female B-male C-female. In the last scenario A and B's relationship is that of broken friendship.

My first guess would be that A is a man, B is a woman, and C is a man. From B's "I want you to see what you've lost" statement, I guessed that B had previously dated A but had been treated badly and they broke up. B wants A to see how behaving like a jerk has bad consequences. A real relationship should be about making the other person happy, and that is something that A didn't understand. B wants A to learn this.
However, after being told that A and C, rather than A and B, had been a couple, my interpretation changed. Now I would guess that A is a man, B is a man, and C is a woman. A was a jerk and lost C. B picked C up after the breakup and is rubbing it in A's face. In this context, I consider both A and B to be jerks.
