I love my dad. I mean, I love my whole family. Anyone who's talked to me for all of about...oh, five minutes, has heard me at least mention my brother and sister, and most likely my parents as well. We're very close (we were able to be all five of us this past weekend, yay, had been a while, and will be even LONGER till the next time...*sigh*) but I digress.

In this particular instance I'm referring to how my dad and I can, and very often do, get into long random discussions on history, politics, (tonight it was mainly religion), on teaching (covered some of that as well) and we talk for hours, lose track of time (and often wind up going to bed faaar later than either of us intended) but it's always worth it because it's always fun, and as a bonus, I often learn a LOT. (My dad having a Phd in History, as well as being a part time professor, and a librarian, knows an awful lot about..well, most things...many of them incredibly useless.)

I guess, as much as I'm crazy excited about going to Japan, the closer my departure date gets, the more I'm thinking about this kinda thing and how I'll miss it. At least they'll only be a call away, or an email...or IM. God I love the technology-ridden world we live in.

On a side note, how in the WORLD did I manage to only have one spelling mistake in this (not counting the many many made up or purposefully mispelled words :-p) especially considering its almost one am...
