On an incredibly random note...but just gotta bounce...Get Backers manga ended today and Super happy ending for the WIN! *does a (rather relieved) happy dance*. We *don't* have to kill A & A sensei. ^_^

Anyway, I keep MEANING to post about Gion matsuri and all that craziness, but to do so I wanna also post pics and I just haven't gotten around to sorting through all of them and such and then resizing them and uploading them and er...let's face it, I'm LAZY!

Instead, I'm going to go into utter squee mode about the latest manga series I'm reading, コーセルテルの竜術士物語. [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp recommended it to me months ago, but because the original magazine it was published in went defunct, I had a devil of a time finding the first four volumes, but I finally did and OMG SO CUTE! I mean...BABY DRAGONS!!...well, dragons that for the most part look like people (in permanent chibi form) plus cute pointy ears, and horns and tails and one of them always has adorable little black wings and a sweet little ukebishonen (he'll be an uke once his seme grows up cause I mean maybe it's terrible of me but I can't help OTPing him with said black-winged, oh so grumpy but too cute little shadow dragon who may only be a foot tall now but is so TOTALLY gonna top) who's taking care of seven of the little dragons and er...lots of cute funny wacky hijinks ensue. Really, it's just too cute for words. Course the latest volumes are published by ZeroSum which means I've now entered no-furigana territory which is making the reading a bit slower and yet still so worth it cause, yes, it really is just. that. cute!

I promise, I'll have a more relevant post soon, I swear, I just had to gush, gomen...

Also, as an extra random side-note, seeing funny movies in Japan is just CREEPY. I mean, they don't laugh, they don't make a f**king SOUND! We're talking the newest Pirates movie, second day it's out, the theater is sold out, and even the climax fight, I mean, the WHEEL stuff, not a SOUND, a peep. Their expressions don't even change. The only laughter we heard was the group of six gaijin I was with and the few other gaijin dispersed throughout the theater. I mean...just BIZARRE!

Is it by chance the sound of my soul being sucked away by Ouran Host club...oh indeed it is. Oh NOES! (Soul not the only thing being drained away, oh my poor poor wallet cause wouldn't yah know it that the local Animate would have to have all these pretty goods for the series right out in front on display and I mean, how could I RESIST! And following that, of COURSE I had to run over to the nearest used bookstore and also purchase all the manga...And all on my lunch break, too. Spending even as I'm earning, oh the vicious vicious cycle)

In other, non-fan related news..um, I...err...wait, I have a non-fan related life? Er...I think...maybe? I'm tired, and sick, and had a long day at work (see, WORK, proof I MUST have some life...) So, life, work, been enjoying the teaching more now that my new schedule has started up, have a good mix of classes, wide range of ages, so that's all well and good. And have both the 'rents and [livejournal.com profile] utopiantrunks comin' to visit in the next few months, hazaah! Also, going to Korea this coming week for a few days, reeeally looking forward to that. w00t to another stamp in my passport *bounce bounce*

Been doing a lot of drawing lately as well, getting back to work on my manga after long last. I may yet actually get this thing to the point where I can post it...wouldn't that be a *shock*?!

And thus concludes the very-irregular vaguely semi-annual not-very-informative how's Gnine's life going update.

For any of you on my flist with the 上手な日本語 skillz: anyone keeping up with Clamp's ツバサ?

I got a question about the most recent chapter of the manga, but since it's more to do with nuances of meaning in this specific case, as well as a reference to a conversation that happened something like five volumes ago, it's kinda hard to ask anyone not familiar with the series. Add that to the fact that I'm not sure if it's my lack of Japanese understanding or simply a misremembering/misunderstanding of the other, older conversation, that's messing me up now...

Anyway...takers anyone?

In other random news, why oh why wasn't the Phantom of the Opera movie better. Le sigh...got around to seeing it tonight, wasn't expecting much, given the reviews, but still, pity, do so love the musical.

So, haven't posted for a while, oops my bad, been kinda busy and all. Unfortunately, due to my feelin kinda under the weather as well as having an early day of work tomorrow, this isn't gonna be much of a post. Just a few random fangirl squeeing/rants...

First off, so, Tsubasa anime, kinda sucky (at least the first few eps I watched) but I still have a fondness for the manga, it's funny...and pretty. Hey, it's Clamp and I'm shallow, so sue me ^_-. *AND* speaking of HOT, mmmmm Kamui and Fuma. It was only a matter of time till they showed up in Tsubasa, but just...squeeeeeee! Oh happy, pretty-boy-filled day!

In other news, what do you MEAN Season four of ReBoot ended THERE!?!!! I've been a fan of the show for years, watched the first season when it was originally airing, caught up with it again in its third season. Knew there was a fourth, but never got around to watching it...until tonight! And it was fun, and cool and all but did it have to end like THAT?! Grrrrrrrr! So NOT with the happy. What kind of finale for a show is that?! I mean, it's not *quite* as bad as the Twin Peaks eternal cliffhanger (but really, what is?) but STILL...*deep, sooooothing breaths* I'm okay, REALLY. It's just...GAHAAHAHA!

Err, more from me later on (hopefully) more relevant matters, but for now, good-bye and good night.
