So, here we are again, with another music vid (SGA again) to offer. One that ATE MY SOUL. Nomnomnomnommmm. Mmm, apparently quite tasty! Who knew? Well, other than almost every fandom I've been in…ah well.

So, I first got obsessed with Beethoven's Last Night several weeks before "The Last Man" aired, and at the time, I recall thinking, hmm, "What Is Eternal" could make a fun SGA vid. Maybe a Rodney piece, maybe the whole team, whatever. With no clear ideas jumping out at me, I put it on the back burner to stew for a bit. Then they gave us the season finale and it was OMG must do this vid NOW. Rodney, oh Rodney, so, SO perfect.

And thus began several weeks of semi-permanent exhaustion. Because, beyond eating my soul, this vid also devoured most of the hours I should have been doing useful things, like say, oh, SLEEPING. But, totally worth it. 'Cause…well, Rodney!

Still being kinda new to this whole vidding 'thang, I used this opportunity to test some new techniques. Like the image matte keying feature, which opens all kinds of new doors. (Coincidentally, I also discovered my computer reeealllly doesn't like having both Photoshop and Premiere open at the same time :-p) I hope what I was trying to accomplish comes through in the end…and that I didn't clutter up the video too much. :-p



As always, I'd very much like to know what people think (truthfully, with all the hours, and amount of SOUL this has eaten up, it's more like 'incredibly anxious to know" :-p), C & C is tremendously welcome!

Just saw this from a rec, and WOW, it's so fantastic. Rodney really deserves the kind of high drama that this song creates, and oh, this is so utterly heartbreaking. The fades from occupied-Atlantis to dead in the desert Atlantis killed me, and from friends to their deaths....yes, there might have been some tears. Oh Rodney!!

I've watched and rewatched this, and it's so amazingly evocative. It made me ache for the entire team (that shot of Sam on the bridge overlaid with the lyrics about betrayal stood out particularly for me, for some reason.) Wonderful.

I decided to see what else you've vidded, and OMG, there are no words ... but I'll try to find a few.

Two thumbs WAY up for this perfect vid. Bonus points for use of SG1 Rodney clips. Once again, great scene selection, great pacing, good use of black and white to keep with the serious all-around tone of this vid.

This is by far my favorite Rodney vid. A few days back, I was Googling, trying to find a vidder that wasn't using the same Season One and Two clips that kept appearing over and over and over. That search was unsuccessful. I don't mind, because evidently good things come to she who waits.

I can now quit playing for the day and actually attempt to learn something about the pathology of end-stage renal disease. Or, I could just re-watch vids. Hm ...

When I was doing both of them, I was very determined to find as many clips as I could from the most recent eps at the time, cause there weren't many vids with forth season clips, which made me ever so sad, cause forth season had some *nice* stuff! Especially Rodney. Mmm, pretty, angsty, wonderful, awesome Rodney! ...Not that I'm biased or anything when it comes to him. ^_-

Wow, I just...I don't have any words for this, it's just so phenomenal and so perfectly captures the essence of the episode and the changes we see in Rodney. The lyrics and the clips fit together so amazingly, and in such a heartbreaking way. I'm not sure I can watch it again without having to cry for Rodney and what he goes through, but I think it will stick with me so well that I won't need to. Amazingly done.

It is absolutely stunning and pretty much my favourite musicvid of all time in any fandom. I just wanted to tell you how much I loved this vid. I even went out and bought the CD for Beethoven's Last Night. Wonderful. Your ability to put the right pictures to the words and make a cohesive story is amazing. Thank you so much.

Have you thought of doing a vid for "Vienna"? Of course using Atlantis instead of the city of Vienna. That might need to be from Daniel Jackson's POV though.

The other song from that CD that I thought would be wonderful was "I'll Keep Your Secrets", but that would have to be Rodney to John, since John did not stand by him after Doranda.

Most of all I wanted to tell you how much I love that video. It haunts me after I've watched it and I want to watch it again and again.

Oh wow. I'm so impressed by how deftly you made this song work, how it is so bombastic but that's so well suited to Rodney. And God, you know, I'd almost forgotten about his alternate story from the end of S4 by this point, and you made it hurt all over again, yet somehow it's glorious, and moved by such love for his team and his city. I'm pretty sure I've commented on this before, but I needed to stop by again to reiterate what an fantastic piece this is. I just bought by husband the Trans-Siberian CD for Xmas because he fell in love with the music after watching the vid with me several times.

This has got to be my fav Last Man vid and up there in my top ten fav Rodney vids too!! Not the slightest bit cluttered, the effects all work seemlessly and add to the vid!! And oh, Rodney!!

I love how you show scenes from other eps - it all builds up to a great ending, and fits the episode and song perfectly! His whole life has led up to this and you show that really well! I can't praise this vid enough - I totally adore it!!!
