Now why can't they actually film this scene? They try to manufacture interesting tension with the whole Ronan/Rodney rivalry over Keller but this? Years of subtext already on film and a bunch of fans that would send the writers and producer endless gifts of gratitude .... probably for life or at least every time they rewatched the scene *laughs*
