Spent a lovely day yesterday with two of my Japanese friends (both former students, one who is now a team teacher with me. Gotta love how that works ^_^) at Lake Biwa. Like most other places in Japan, there was a LOT of people. But still, was fun, the water was the perfect temperature, the weather was gorgeous and there were lots of nice tanned good looking boys running around being very ~~GAY~~ cute.

In the evening we went to a beautiful fireworks show in Otsu, shot up over the lake. Probably the best fireworks display I've ever been to. LOTS of fireworks (10,000 the advertisements were saying) and several varieties I'd never seen before. All in all, a great day.

Now packing/getting ready to leave for Hokkaido.

xparrot and I will be gone a week up there, and we're not taking our babies, so unless we hit an internet café along the way, we'll be pretty much incommunicado until the 16th. Or if you have our cell phone number, we'll have those along.

I'll post about Hokkaido when I get back…I swear. Yes mom, I'll even include pictures. Really I will…er…

In other, slightly fan-related news, as one might have noticed, I've been posting practically not at all, and one of the main reasons for this is I've been in a creative slump. No art, no vids, no fic, etc. But recently did two sketches, one of Alec and Seregil from Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series (the pic is semi-inspired from one of the snippets she posted of the 4th, upcoming book) and the other is…um…HP-related, actually. Cause um, well, I can't help it, I like the AS/S pairing faaar more than is healthy. So this pic would probably be something along the lines of them coming out to their dads and Harry and Draco just not taking it very well…
