More SGA art…and not chibis this time! *gasp*

Since coming back from Thailand (I'll post on the trip soon, I swear, with pictures even. Really, really I will), I've been working feverishly to get this picture for the SGA art fest, paintedspires, done in time for my posting date of Tuesday. And I succeeded, and well, it's Tuesday, at least by my time, so um…yeah.

Notes 1: Thanks to xparrot and my brother for their usual beta efforts, otherwise known as "hey, come here and tell me what's wrong with this."

Notes 2: I wound up using over 80 layers in photoshop to get the completed image(my computer was NOT happy) and it took about as many hours to do so. :-p The prompt didn't really specify Rodney or anything, but well…whales! How could he not be there? ^_-

You did a really good job with the lighting. Love how Rodney's face (it looks like him) is lit and the details on his uniform you can barely make out. The reflection of the city in the water looks really good, and the whales really complete the serene feel of the piece. Good job. :)

Thanks! I was having fun doing all the detail on Rodney...it meant spending lots of time starring at a number of beautfiul Rodney shots for reference. Oh...the hardship ^_- So glad yo like!
